One of the things I’ve been trying to do over the last year, is improve my relationship with the morning hours and have a positive start to the day! I’ve read so many things that say to be successful you need to start your day off well, and I really do believe it now. Previously I have always been a night owl, but as I’m getting older, I really appreciate early mornings more, and I love getting an early night!!
“Morning is an important time of day, because how you spend your morning can often tell you what kind of day you are going to have.” – Lemony Snicket
I read a really interesting book a few months ago, which really helped, which was called Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. If you’re struggling to get up earlier and implement new habits, I really recommend giving this book a read, as it really helped me!
The Miracle Morning
The Miracle Morning shows how a morning routine built around 6 key practices known as “Life S.A.V.E.R.S” – silence, affirmations, visualisation, exercise, reading and scribing – can help you get more done and live your best life.
It’s an easy to read book, that I consumed over the course of a weekend, and little by little I started to implement some of what he said one bit at a time. I know everyone needs to have their own take on what a perfect morning looks like, but I have kept the Silence, Affirmations, Visualisation and Scribing. I’m not someone who seems to enjoy exercise in the morning yet, but who knows, maybe I will in the future, I also prefer to read at night generally, but again – I’m not writing anything off!
I’ve never been a morning person in my life, and to be honest I’m still not totally there, and I’m a long way from jumping out of bed without an alarm, but this book really does help! As well as the book, he also has a really useful website with some great information and resources.
